New York Association of Neuropathologists
Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY): This was a 59-year-old man with a history of removal of a brain tumor at the age of 4 years. No information regarding the diagnosis of this tumor was available, but it was later confirmed that he had received radiation as a child, following the surgery. Consultation material from a more recent operation was received, indicated as "posterior fossa midline tumor." No additional clinical information was available, except that the neurosurgeon who removed the patient's second tumor noticed an area of alopecia over the head where the tumor to be removed was located. The patient died less than 2 months after the surgery.
