Biography:

Dr. Kozlowski received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the Warsaw Academy of Medicine in 1973 and his PhD in Clinical Neuropathology from the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1979. He was trained in general pathology and neuropathology in the Warsaw Academy of Medicine and later in Anatomic, Clinical and Neuropathology at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology. He has been a program director at the NIH Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland and the Director of the Institute for Basic Research in Staten Island, New York. He joined Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in New York  in 2007, first as a founding Pre-Clinical Dean and later as a Dean of Research. Presently, Dr Kozlowski is the Professor of Pathology and Dean of Research at TouroCOM New York. He is also a director of Neuromedlab, an independent diagnostic laboratory providing neuropathological and neurohistological services and consultations.

Area of special expertise: Developmental neuropathology, infectious and degenerative brain diseases, brain banking

Research Interests: Neurodegeneration and immune mediated brain injury, including Alzheimer's disease and AIDS, biology of microglia
